Dear Customers,
Everyone here in the SADDLE HILL family is healthy and safe, but while we navigate the uncertainty of the next few weeks, we wanted to reach out and share a few things that have changed for our shop.

SADDLE HILL is a family-owned small business that started in our living room and grew to a fairly big 4000 sq/ft shop with eight employees over the last nine years. We have grown thanks to the hard work and dedication from our team as well as from our wonderful home-based business customers.

During our growth, we have built some great relationships with our customers who depend on us for their own livelihood and for that reason, we are doing everything we can to remain up and running during this difficult time.

A lot of larger stores are sending their employees home with full pay, or offering telecommuting options, and other benefits. Unfortunately, since we are a small business that cannot afford large expenses without operating, we cannot offer those same benefits. But we do want all of our employees and customers to be safe and healthy!

  • More than a week ago, we made the following changes in our shop:
  • Moved all workstations to be at least 6+ feet apart in a large open area to ensure employees are not standing close together at any given time.
  • Adjusted shifts for employees to have no more than 2-3 working at the same time in the same production room (1000 sq/ft) for extended periods of time.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been installed in high-traffic areas and employees use them each time they walk by one.
  • Management/Design team went home to self-isolate to ensure no unnecessary contact was made.
  • All workstations, doorknobs, surfaces, etc are cleaned and disinfected at least twice per day.
  • Our building is closed for customer meetings and local pickups until further notice.
  • Mail pickup and drop off and package delivery is limited to the front lobby of the building and no guests are allowed beyond that point.

With the recent decline in sales and order volume in the last week due to COVID-19, we have had to make the very difficult decision to send the majority of our employees home and they will now function as “on call” until production volume picks up again. We are in touch with all employees to help in any way we can during this difficult and uncertain time.

Currently, the design team is working from home and we have a single full time employee handling production and shipping to ensure your orders are still shipped out as we continue to support all of our home-based business customers. By having a single employee handle these operations, we are limiting his contact and ensuring his safety. We are working together remotely to ensure all of our customers’ orders are not affected so that you can continue to grow your business. We know that you depend on us to ensure we can continue to operate so that your handmade products look their best while you move to online-based sales.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust staff as needed to ensure we can provide the products you need when you need them. Many of our customers are shifting to online-only for their businesses and we want to be here to support you however we can. We can work together to ensure our businesses weather this storm and continue to grow in the future. We are incredibly fortunate for understanding employees who are working with us to get through this together as the SADDLE HILL family.

One of our employees sent this group text the other day and I wanted to share it with you all.
“I think it’s important that we all try to keep our spirits up and try to help each other as much as we can. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. We gotta get through this together!”

Truer words could not be spoken! This attitude is what will keep us working incredibly hard to bring all of our employees back as soon as we can. We love every one of them as family.
